A Thoughtful Move Begins With the Right Partner
Led by Katherine Mathes Bullock and Leah Ewing, whose backgrounds span HR, executive recruiting, education operations, and high-end event planning, we bring both strategic precision and human insight to every move. We’re trusted connectors within North Texas — ensuring each transition feels less overwhelming and more like coming home.
Katherine
Katherine is a lifelong Dallasite with deep roots and enduring relationships across the city. A graduate of The Hockaday School and Vanderbilt University, she returned to Dallas after a fellowship with Lloyd’s of London and built her career — and her network — here at home.
As the former CEO of Mathes & Co. Events for 17 years, Katherine led thousands of high-touch events for discerning clients throughout North Texas. Her reputation was built on discretion, precision, and an unwavering commitment to the guest experience — cultivating trusted relationships with venues, vendors, private institutions, and families across Dallas.
Katherine’s strength lies in thoughtfully matching clients with the right partners. Her nuanced understanding of people — and her deep local network — allow her to make introductions that are seamless, strategic, and built on trust.
Katherine’s longstanding involvement in the Junior League of Dallas, the Dallas Museum of Art, and roles on the Hockaday Alumnae Committee reflect not only service, but connection. She understands the social fabric of Dallas — from her expertise in central Dallas neighborhoods and private schools to philanthropic circles and hidden gems — making her an invaluable guide for families establishing roots in the city.
She and her husband enjoy time at the lake with their son, daughter, and their black labs.
Leah
Having grown up moving from New York to Kansas and eventually to Texas due to her father’s corporate career, Leah knows firsthand what it means to start fresh in a new city. Today, after more than twenty years in University Park, she brings both empathy and insider knowledge to families navigating relocation.
A graduate of Wake Forest University with an MBA from Vanderbilt University, Leah built her career in Human Resources and executive recruiting across a range of industries. As an HR Business Partner, she developed a keen ability to guide professionals through major life transitions.
Within Soft Landing, Leah is the go-to expert on the rhythms of daily life in Dallas. She has an in-depth understanding of the public and private school systems, neighborhood dynamics, and the city’s medical, fitness, country club, and youth sports communities. She keeps a close pulse on what’s new, noteworthy, and meaningful — helping families not just relocate, but integrate seamlessly.
Leah and her husband are raising their three teenage boys in Dallas, where weekends are often spent outdoors or on the sidelines of sports fields. Their home is made warmer by their Sheepadoodle and the foster dogs they often welcome — a reflection of their commitment to family and community.
